7z SFX Builder is a comprehensive and effective piece of software geared towards users who need to build 7z SFX configuration files effortlessly. However, before using the program, you need to read the provided documentation, then create the desired files properly.
Adopting a straightforward approach, 7z SFX Builder comes with a multi-tabbed interface that helps you to choose the overwrite mode that you are interested in, set the extraction path, control the appearance of dialog boxes and text, as well as create shortcuts to programs and assign icons the way you want.
The Main tab enables you to set the extraction path, view the extraction percentage in the title bar, use separate windows in order to specify the extraction path and work with bold fonts when it comes to performing various actions.
By accessing the ‘Title/Text’ tab you are able to set a password so you can secure your data, specify a warning message title and an extract path window title.
However, the tab that you will use each time you want to build your 7z SFX configuration files will be the ‘Run’ tab from where you can easily add new programs to the list in order to run them after the extraction process is finished.
This way, you can choose the type of parameter you are interested in. The drop-down list enables you to select the option that best suits your needs such as ‘RunProgram’, ‘AutoInstall’, ‘AutoInstallX’ and ‘ExecuteFile’. Additionally, you can specify a prefix and enter the commands that will create your SFX (EXE) files.
